Beating Around the Bush

Bush admitted in an interview discussing his giving up alcohol that:

"being the sober guy made me realise how mindless I sounded when I was drunk".

What is this blog about?

I live in Zigzags. Some days I get it right and seem to be heading towards a place I want to go, singing and dancing. Other days I get it wrong and find myself stumbling and sometimes even crawling on my knees towards a dark and twisty place that I never intended to visit. But I zig and I zag and trust I’m heading in more or less the right direction.

I have BIG emotions that can sweep me downriver until I jump out of the current and try to restore equilibrium. I love to make people laugh. If people cry because I’ve touched their soul, I love that too. I love to teach and see the light of comprehension come on in my students' eyes. I am innately curious and love to learn. I'll google anything and everything until I've forgotten what I set out to do. I love to feel my brain thinking as much as I love to feel my body running and riding. I think incessantly about stuff like why we’re here; what it means to be human; how to be less serious; how to be more grown-up; how to tick off everything on my to-do list; how to do nothing; how to find Spiritual Bliss; why I act like I do and others act as they do; how to be a better person and how to accept myself just as I am.

This is my blog in which I shall be totally present, speak my truth and be willing to take a stand. I write about the sad, mad, glad and bad stuff. I write about law and education, relationships and spirituality, because I often find myself working and living in the intersection of these things. I write to make sense of what's going on. I reserve the right to contradict my own earlier views as I develop my thinking on a subject. I have been called a Compulsive Disclosurist. I'm not good at keeping my own secrets. Often I write in my head and the words never see daylight. My inner critic swats them away with one dismissive scathing glance. If I can quieten her, you will see it here as I find my voice.
